East Village
 Bordered by East 14th Street on the north, Broadway to the west, Houston Street to the south and the East River, this area gained recognition in the early 60’s when it was established by writers, artists, musicians and actors who wanted to live downtown, yet could not afford the real estate prices of its more upscale neighbor, Greenwich Village. Today it is extremely popular with young bohemians and professionals alike, and is renowned for its cutting edge restaurants and trendy nightclubs. |
