 Bordered by East Houston Street on the north, Canal Street to the south, the Bowery to the west and the East River, this area was the most densely populated section of the city in the mid-1800s. Today it is undergoing a rapid transformation as chic boutiques and lounges become a common sight amongst the traditional ethnic markets and shops. |
